Terms of Service

Last updated: July 21, 2026

By using Keyring you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Keyring is a free, browser-based password generator, local vault, and breach checker. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.

2. Your data is your responsibility

  • Your vault lives in your browser. If you clear browser data, uninstall the browser, or lose the device, your entries will be lost unless you exported a backup.
  • If you enable encryption and forget your master passphrase, we cannot recover it. There is no reset. This is by design.
  • You are responsible for keeping any exported backup files secure.

3. Acceptable use

  • Do not use Keyring to attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data you do not own or have permission to access.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or overload the service.

4. No warranty

Keyring is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that generated passwords are accepted by any specific website, that the vault will be free of bugs, or that the service will always be available.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Keyring and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or account compromise arising from your use of the service.

6. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
